25+ Fantabulous Mark Twain Quotes

Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835 in Florida, Missouri US. He was an American author and humorist. His real name was Samuel Langhorne Clemens but he was famous by his pen name Mark Twain. He was the author of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and he also wrote a sequel to it named Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1885) which was later called The Great American Novel. He was a writer and a lecturer. He married Olivia Langdon Clemens in February 1870. He had four children named Langdon, Susy, Clara, Jean. He published a humorous story in 1865 ‘The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County’ which was based on a story he heard at Angels Hotel in Angels Camp California where he had spent some time as a miner.

The short story brought him international fame. Twain was fascinated with science and scientific inquiry. In 1909, twain is quoted as saying: ‘I came in with Halley’s Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it. It will be the greatest disappointment of my life if I don’t go out with Halley’s Comet. The Almighty has said, no doubt: ‘Now here are these two unaccountable freaks; they came in together, they must go out together.’ His prediction turned out true; he died of a heart attack on April 21, 1910 at the age of 74 years, one day after the comet’s closest approach to Earth.
